AK Family Calibrators

Configuration Locking Feature

Background

The AK Family of calibrators have an abundance of special features and are highly configurable. Some users have expressed the desire to be able to customize the operation of the calibrators for their particular needs. Since custom software can be expensive to design and maintain, we have evaluated a general Configuration Locking feature that will allow a calibrator to be configured per the user’s needs and then “locked” so that the configuration cannot be changed without a password.

Implementation

Configuration items are changed through standard menu functions. When a configuration menu is called, the current or default choice is supplied, and the user can accept the current choice or select a different choice. The Configuration Locking feature will assign a ‘Lock’ bit to each configuration menu that will prevent the user from changing the current setting. Operating Modes such as RAMP or MIN/MAX may also be locked (disabled).

Access to the LOCK/UNLOCK feature is limited by password. The password will be the same as the USER MESSAGE password.
